+Antique Native American Snowshoes
Circa 1890-1910
30"l x 10"w x 1"h
These snowshoes were likely used by a child or lighter weight adult as they are so small. The Native American handiwork and quality craftsmanship shows in the fine weaving of the lacing on these antique snowshoes. The toe hole is double re-enforced - a classic Native American craft technique. The wood has not been refinished on these snowshoes so you get the nice "driftwood" "non-finish" which looks its age. Has leather strap bindings - typical of the era. The pom poms are still attached and not worn off. A nice pair of smaller snowshoes.
